Meet Jack
I’m Jack Sedgmen, a registered building practitioner and the director of Sedgmen Construction. With over 17 years in the building and construction industry, I began my journey as a carpenter, completing my apprenticeship in 2011.
Since then, I’ve built a reputation for quality and reliability through my carpentry business, working alongside some of Melbourne’s leading builders.
Behind the scenes, I’ve been laying a rock-solid foundation for Sedgmen Construction — bringing clarity, professionalism, and wellness-focused design into the homes of local families.
Our Community
As part of the Live Life Build Elevate community — a group of like-minded, forward-thinking builders — I’ve continued to refine my systems and mindset.
In 2024, I was proud to receive the Showing Up Award and was Highly Commended in the Biggest Action Taker Award at the annual Live Life Build Awards.
This recognition reflects not only my personal commitment but also the systems and support we bring into every project.
All of this enables me and my team at Sedgmen Construction to deliver you a renovation experience that's smooth, empowering and deeply personal - one where you feel informed, supported and proud of the home you've created

Home adaptation to neurodivergent living
As a father of two, and someone with lived experience supporting children with autism and ADHD, I understand how the built environment can either support or hinder daily life — especially in family homes.
Simple things like lighting, texture, airflow, layout, and the presence of natural elements can make a big difference in how a space helps (or hinders) regulation, comfort, and connection — particularly for neurodivergent individuals.
At Sedgmen Construction, we work with families to thoughtfully adapt and design homes that create calmer, more supportive spaces, whether you’re renovating a kitchen, bathroom, or your whole home.
Because a renovation isn’t just about better materials — it’s about creating a home that truly works for the way you live.
